Av. Mehmet Koru

Av. Mehmet Koru graduated from Istanbul Medipol University Faculty of Law on a full scholarship and has built his career at the intersection of financial markets, crypto assets and compliance law.

In addition to his legal training, he has gained institutional-level operational experience in crypto asset markets. He has managed high-volume cross-exchange and cross-chain arbitrage strategies, stablecoin market making and OTC desk operations; and built strategic partnerships with liquidity providers, custodian banks, exchanges and institutional OTC desks. He has also experienced KYC/KYB client onboarding and AML compliance processes from an operational perspective. This background enables him to evaluate his clients' sector-specific realities through a legal lens.

Through Koru Legal, which he founded in 2024, he provides compliance advisory, client onboarding (KYC/KYB), company formation and commercial law services for FinTech firms, crypto asset platforms, investment companies and SMEs.

He holds certificates from Duke University in FinTech Law and Policy, Lund University in European Business Law, and INSEAD in Blockchain and Decentralised Finance. He has attended training programmes at the Capital Markets Board of Turkey (SPK) and Borsa Istanbul.
